Meatball Soup

Ingredients:

Soup:
1/2 cup diced celery
1 cup raw diced potatoes
> 1/2 cup chopped celery leaves
2 cups water
1 large onion, minced
1 large can tomatoes
2 carrots, sliced
salt & pepper to tast

Meatballs:
1/2 lb ground meat
salt
1/4 cup milk
2 tbs shortening
1/2 cup fresh breadcrumbs
1/4 cup minced onions
1 egg



Preparation:


Saute onions in shortening, add to rest of ingredients, mix well
and form into balls (moisten hands to shape). Refrigerate
meatballs 1/2 hour. Cook soup for 1/2 hour till almost done. Drop
in meatballs and simmer 20 min.

I serve this with grated cheese sprinkled on top and Italian bread. Great for lunch and supper.
